Law for Librarians:  Resources

The resources found in this file are a compilation of the materials presented at Law for Librarians, an intensive three-day workshop attended by librarians from each state in the country in April 2006.    The training focused on the “legal basis of libraries’ intellectual freedom principles.”  It included “up-to-date information on state and federal statutes, pertinent case law, policy development and implementation, and good practices.”

Funding for Law for Librarians was provided in-part by a grant from the Ford Foundation and co-sponsored by the ALA’s Office for Intellectual Freedom and the ALA’s Chapter Relations Office.  Permission to use the resources within this file is given by the authors and compilers.
