MASSACHUSETTS LIBRARY ASSOCIATION POSITION QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTS
The Massachusetts Library Association (MLA) surveyed candidates in the gubernatorial, house, and senate races. Our survey included a series of statements based on the major issues that make up MLA’s legislative agenda. For each statement, we asked candidates if they support or oppose MLA’s position. Legislative surveys were mailed to all candidates in gubernatorial, senate, and house races. All responses received by August 25, 2006 were compiled and published. We extended the deadline from August 9, 2006 but needed to close the survey and publish results by the end of the month. Unfortunately, we are unable to add responses received after August 25th. The results are presented here. Responses are listed as received from the candidates and, as such, may contain errors due to faxed transmission where responses may have been cut off and keyboarding errors. We have made minor corrections of spelling errors and omitted contact information and comments that were not relevant here. We suggest that you contact candidates personally to clarify any points of interest.
The Massachusetts Library Association (MLA) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that represents public, academic, school and specialized libraries in the Commonwealth.
