MEMBERSHIP
Everybody who is either a member of a Friends of Library - organization,
a Business Sponsor, or just an active user of your local library, can
become a member of the MFOL and help to support libraries all over the
state.
WHY WE NEED YOU
We have several goals for the next months and years and need you to
join us to achieve them - every new member will help to strengthen our
position to advocate in behalf of Massachusetts libraries!
OUR GOALS ARE
- Double MFOL membership. Only little more than a third of
the state's public libraries are members. Strength lies in numbers.
MFOL needs your support and asks you to tell another Friends group
about MFOL. We welcome corporate, school and law libraries as well.
- Advocate for libraries at the state and local levels. We
will push to shake the state's legislative tree.
- Sponsor a Great Ideas Contest. MFOL wants to recognize and
honor creative ideas generated by its members. Details of our current
contest will be announced soon.
- Be more visible. MFOL will host more roundtables and co-sponsor,
along with MLBC (Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners), fundraising
workshops & other events. Directors and Trustees will be asked
to urge their Friends groups to join MFOL.
