Technical Services Section

We invite all technical services librarians and paralibrarians to join the Technical Services Section (TSS) of the Massachusetts Library Association (MLA).

Even if you’ve never served on a MLA committee or any professional committee, fear not. By checking off TSS on your MLA member application or renewal, you are a bona fide member and you need not be an officer to attend a meeting. There are no extra dues to be a TSS member.

We organize and sponsor 3-4 programs at the MLA annual conference, as well as occasional stand-alone workshops, on such topics as Successful Selling (how to make your book sale more profitable), Numerology (what does Technical Services cost your library), Connecting With Multilingual Communities (collection development for non-English speakers), etc.

The objectives of the Section are: to provide a forum for discussion and programming dealing with technical services and technology; to maintain and enhance career awareness; to facilitate the exchange of information on recent developments in technical services and technology; and to respond to the changes in accordance with the membership's wishes.
